Natural Essentials Every Bathroom Cabinet Needs

Keep your bathroom cabinet stocked with these essentials to enjoy natural benefits with no harsh chemicals.

Aloe Vera

It is kind to the skin, moisturising, cooling, hydrating and softening. Aloe Vera is perfect for all skin types, cooling after being in the sun and can be applied all over the body including the face. Aloe Vera is a skincare superstar with all its natural properties and deserves a spot in any bathroom cabinet or beach bag.

Lavender Oil

Add a few drops of lavender to your bedtime bath or pillow to help drift off for a peaceful night’s sleep(1). The inhalation of lavender oil may promote better sleep quality, feeling refreshed when awakening(1). Lavender helps to support relaxation and physical well being(2). Essential oils should never be applied neatly on skin and should always be diluted in a carrier oil like almond oil or coconut oil.

Epsom Salts

The main ingredient in Epsom salts is magnesium sulphate, which is magnesium bound to a sulphate compound. Magnesium contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, electrolyte balance, normal functioning of the nervous system and contributes to normal muscle function. Being soluble in water makes these salts ideal for pouring in warm baths and soaking those tired, tensed muscles. They make the perfect addition to that well-earned post-workout bathe.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil melts instantly when placed on the skin or scalp, making it perfect for moisturising skin or as a conditioning treatment for hair. It’s a common ingredient in DIY hair and face masks too, so if you want to make your own pamper products at home, coconut oil will come in handy.

Apple Cider Vinegar

As well as being available in supplement form, in products for digestion, apple cider vinegar can also work as a natural conditioner for hair. Mix a tablespoon with a cup of water and rinse through hair for added shine and clean hair. Apple cider vinegar can also be used as a foot bath, keeping feet healthy and in good condition.

Rose Water

Rose water is created by distilling rose petals with steam and can then be added to water or other beauty or food and drink products. It has been used for thousands of years including the middle ages. It naturally has a rose fragrance often used in perfumes or perfumed bath products. Rose water may help balance your skin’s natural oils while reducing redness and minimising visible pores(3).
