Aloe vera is one of the oldest plants that has been used medicinally on record. It has been used for over 6000 years and was regarded as a sacred plant, which the ancient Egyptians believing it held the secret to beauty, health and immortality. Their dead were embalmed with aloe as it was considered that the plant had anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which would preserve the body.

Aloe vera, also known as Aloe barbadensis is a cactus-like plant which belongs to the lily family. The long pointed fleshy leaves are filled with juice which has beneficial properties to the skin. Aloe contains over 150 nutritional ingredients including; Amino acids; includes all of the essential amino acids which when used topically help to rejuvenate skin growth.

Vitamins and Minerals; B vitamins, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, manganese, chromium and selenium to help maintain skin health helping to protect cells from damage. Lignans; that acts as phytoestrogens and also help aloe to penetrate into the skin. Polysaccharides; including mannose and acemannon help to destroy micro-
organisms helping to keep the skin healthy.
